# Export to JSON

Before exporting data to **JSON**, make sure you've already set up a [Data Source](/thecode4-docs/user-guide/create-data-sources/create-json-data-source.md). Creating a Jira API Token isn't necessary for exporting in JSON format, simplifying the process for this specific export type.

#### To export your Jira data to JSON, follow these steps:

1. Inside the **Data Processor for Jira** app Select the ‘**Data Sources’** section in the left-side menu, and then choose ‘**JSON’** from the list.\

2. In the list, identify the **Data Source** you want to export. When the '**READY**' status is active, proceed by clicking on it to start the export process.<br>

At this stage, you also have the option to **edit** or **delete** the Data Source using the **three-line button**.<br>

Additionally, to ensure your data is up to date, you can use the **refresh button**, located next to the three-line button, especially if there have been changes in your Jira. This feature helps maintain the accuracy of your data for export.<br>
