# Export to Tableau

Ensure you have already created a [Data Source](/thecode4-docs/user-guide/create-data-sources/create-tableau-data-source.md) and successfully saved and validated your [Jira API Token](/thecode4-docs/user-guide/generate-access-tokens/create-jira-api-token.md) before you start exporting data to **Tableau**. These preliminary steps are crucial for a smooth and successful data export process.

#### To export your Jira data to Tableau, follow these steps:

1. Inside the **Data Processor for Jira** app Select the ‘**Data Sources’** section in the left-side menu, and then choose ‘**Tableau’** from the list.\

2. Locate the specific **Data Source** you wish to export from the displayed list. Then, hover your cursor over the empty field where the **link** will appear. **Click** on this link to **copy** it.\

Importing a substantial amount of data into Tableau might require some additional time to complete. This is particularly true for larger datasets.

6. **Drag and drop** your desired Jira **tables** into Tableau. After positioning them, click on '**Sheet 1**' to initiate the data extraction process. This action will bring your selected Jira data into Tableau for further manipulation and analysis.
7. After extracting data into **Sheet 1**, you're ready to begin creating **graphs** and **dashboards**. This step allows you to visualize and analyze the imported Jira data effectively in Tableau.
